Electrical Engineer

WasteServ thru its Contractor - OZO Services is seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer

General Overview of Responsibilities    

  • Assist the facilities, projects, and maintenance department with any electrical upgrades, new electrical systems, installations, drawings, consultations, and improvements required;
  • Liaise with the contractors providing any electrical installation service and be responsible for the service being provided and certifies the works once completed;
  • Assist the facilities with PLC Programming and SCADA Upgrades required;
  • Assist in the design and implementation of an operational and maintenance plan program of electrical works for the plants to ensure the most efficient financial, technical and environmental performance;
  • Ensure that any works adhere to all the necessary H&S measures;
  • Prepare and design procurement of tenders for the purchase of new equipment and materials required;
  • When required, manage any operations and maintenance subordinate staff and delegate works on daily operations, scheduled maintenance, plant monitoring, and performance of tests;
  • Update electrical drawings when new upgrades/changes are implemented;
  • Organise and manage regular meetings with departments; 
  • Is sensitive to the needs of the industry and other users;
  • Ensure that certified electrical works are carried out and adhere to the necessary rules and regulations. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a qualified Electrical Engineer with in-depth experience in project management, operations, and maintenance, or programming with at least 4 years experience.  On-field experience will be considered an asset; 
  • Must be a warranted Engineer;
  • Must be in possession of Electrical Licence A and B;
  • Experience in high tension cable laying is considered an asset;
  • Must possess sufficient proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Programming experience in SCADA System and knowledge on PLC Programming are considered an asset;
  • Be computer literate and preferably skilled in the use of CAD including the ability to read and interpret and design electrical plans and specifications;
  • Be knowledgeable in labour management and staff affairs including risk assessment at the workplace and health and safety procedures;
  • Have experience in contract management, tendering of works, and service contracts.
