WasteServ through its Contractor - OZO Services is seeking to recruit a Lawyer.
Position: Lawyer (Professional)
General Overview of Responsibilities
- To perform all legal work that may be carried out by a practising lawyer in accordance with the standards of the profession.
- Monitor legal risks in documentation and provide risk assessments.
- Interpret local and/or EU law, court rulings, and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence as required.
- Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed.
- Hold meetings with individuals involved in assigned cases and provide legal advice.
- Offer legal representation at arbitration or mediation hearings.
- Draft and review company regulations and/or related documents as instructed by the CEO or their delegate.
Manage regulatory and compliance-related services.
- Offer legal representation to the Company in court proceedings on civil or criminal matters.
- Perform the necessary preparatory work to produce evidence in court cases and to represent the Company in such cases as may be assigned.
- Follow up after a court decision has been handed down or a settlement has been reached in relation to the Company, ensuring that all parties take action on what they have been committed or ordered to do.
- Assist, when requested, in the vetting of tender documents and contracts.
- Assist in contract negotiations and the conclusion of contracts and/or tenders as necessary.
- Participate in negotiations on behalf of the Company.
- Attend all mandatory training as required by the Company in order to fulfil the role while acquiring the relevant knowledge, skills, and techniques.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the CEO and/or their designate.
- Provide legal opinions on issues related to parliamentary questions concerning the Company.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) or a Master’s in Advocacy.
