WasteServ through its Contractor - OZO Services is seeking to recruit a Technical Fitter.
Position: Technical Fitter
General Overview of Responsibilities
- Carry out the necessary repairs and maintenance in accordance with the
diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, training programs and manufacturers‘ specifications;
- Be capable to trace technical faults;
- Perform maintenance checks before and after operations of the Plant;
- Compile all the necessary maintenance Job sheets & other
documentation as required;
- Available to work on Shift Basis if required including on-call;
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time;
- Be capable to weld steel and stainless steel fluently (certifications are
considered an asset);
- Be capable to fabricate developments in sheet metal, as may be
required;
- Be capable to use conventional machining tools, such as lathe and
milling;
- Be capable of using cutting and shaping tools such as angle grinders,
Oxy-Acetylene, plasma cutters;
- Ability to manage assistant fitters where required;
- Ability to manage projects which may be assigned to you;
- Ability to work in confined spaces;
- Be able to work at heights (with appropriate safety measures);
- Ability to read advanced measuring tools such as micrometre screw
gauge and vernier calliper;
- Attend all obligatory training as required by the company in order to be
able to fulfil the role whilst obtaining the relevant knowledge, skills and
techniques.
Eligibility Criteria
- Have an MQF Level 4 MCAST Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 2 years related work experience; OR
- Have an MCAST / BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent at MQF Level 3 with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience; OR
- Have at least 8 years of related work experience;
- Successfully complete Hydraulics, Pumps & Pneumatics – Maintenance & Troubleshooting course OR equivalent, within 1 year from starting date, provided by the Company;
- Successfully obtain a license required to work with refrigeration gases, within 1 year from starting date, provided by the Company.
- Have a certification from MCAST in Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA) and/or MIG or equivalent at Level 3 or better OR must successfully complete the course, within 1 year from starting date, provided by the Company.
