Ing. Maria Margarita Belfiore
A career that breaks boundaries.

“Every day at WasteServ is a new experience,” says Ing. Maria Margarita Belfiore, who works in our Health & Safety Department, a key team driving a strong safety culture across the company. But her story reflects more than just professional growth. It’s also about breaking stereotypes and embracing diversity. “People are often surprised to see a woman and a foreigner working at WasteServ,” Maria shares. And that’s exactly what makes our workplace special.

Ing. Ian Ciantar & Ing. Karl Magro Gazzano

What's it really like at WasteServ.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be an engineer at WasteServ? We sat down with two of our own, Ing. Ian Ciantar and Ing. Karl Magro Gazzano, to find out what keeps them motivated and excited about their work. For Karl, the excitement started on day one. “I quickly realised how much there is to learn here,” he said. “Every day is different as you get to work on so many things that it keeps your skills sharp.” Ian, on the other hand, loves the unique opportunities that come with the job. “At WasteServ, I get to lead projects and take on responsibilities that I wouldn’t have had elsewhere.”
A career that grows with you.

Working at WasteServ isn’t just a job, it’s a journey of continuous growth. Thanks to the scale and diversity of our operations, our engineers don’t just tackle varied tasks, but they also contribute to national projects that shape Malta’s environmental future. Here, your work truly matters. You’re not only advancing your career through upskilling and hands-on experience, but you’re also helping build a more sustainable environment for generations to come.

And that’s what makes WasteServ truly unique.

Chantelle Seguna

What's it really like at WasteServ.

“My biggest satisfaction is seeing our employees grow and develop their skills. Many are surprised by how many training opportunities WasteServ actually offers.” That’s how Ms. Chantelle Seguna, Head of WasteServ’s Training and Development Department, describes her role and the impact it has.

Giorgia Favata & Diana Aurora Gamas

Girl power & green spaces.

Yes, WasteServ has architects, and it’s girl power that drives the GreenServ team, the creative force behind transforming abandoned spaces into beautiful green areas for the public to enjoy. In a recent interview, architects Giorgia Favata and Diana Aurora Gamas shared how they breathe new life into forgotten places.

Supporting our communities.

“We give these spaces an identity and turn them into places everyone can enjoy,” they explained.

This work is part of WasteServ’s broader mission that goes beyond waste management. Projects like Ġnien Victor Calvagna in Mosta and Ġnien fuq il-Glażiż in Birgu are excellent examples of how we repurpose spaces with sustainability in mind that benefit both the environment and the community.

Our architects are not just designing; they’re reimagining Malta’s landscape.
Naomi Meli
Inspiring your minds.

“The smile on the children’s faces when they enter, and knowing that they’ll leave with more knowledge, is a big satisfaction.” That’s how Ms. Naomi Meli, one of our passionate team members at the ECOHIVE Academy, describes her experience working at WasteServ. Every month, hundreds of children visit this vibrant educational centre to learn about sustainability and waste management through fun, hands-on activities. The ECOHIVE Academy is more than just a learning space; it’s a source of inspiration, sparking curiosity and eco-conscious habits that children carry into their everyday lives.

Ing. Casey Muscat & Ing. Tim Vella

Team spirit at WasteServ.

This interview is a perfect snapshot of the camaraderie that thrives at WasteServ, complete with friendly banter about scoring goals during our weekly employee football matches! Because here, it’s not just about work. We believe that fun, connection, and collaboration are key to building strong teams.

More than just work.

From regular team-building events to Sports Days, we create opportunities for our employees to bond, recharge, and grow together. These moments strengthen relationships, boost morale, and foster a genuine sense of belonging. And it shows. “We’re a very good team—mechanics, welders, fitters—we work like a chain,” says Ing. Tim Vella. “We support each other. We’re like a family,” adds Ing. Casey Muscat.
