WasteServ signs its first-ever collective agreement for professional employees

WasteServ has signed a collective agreement with the Union of Professionals WasteServ (UPW), strengthening the employment conditions of the company’s professional employees.

The agreement was signed by WasteServ CEO Richard Bilocca and Union President Desislava Muscat in the presence of Permanent Secretary Dr Joyce Cassar and representatives of the Industrial Relations Unit.

The collective agreement applies to WasteServ’s professional grades, expanding on the salary and grading structure, together with provisions covering annual salary progression, allowances, working arrangements, family-friendly measures, training and career development.

WasteServ CEO Richard Bilocca said the agreement provides a stable foundation for the company’s continued development.

“WasteServ, and its performance, is ultimately defined by its workers. This collective agreement strengthens the conditions offered to our professional employees and provides a clear framework through which we can continue to develop. It also reflects our commitment to attracting top-tier professionals, supporting our employees and delivering effectively for the country.”

The signing marks another step in WasteServ’s efforts to strengthen the professional expertise required to deliver Malta’s waste management objectives.
