The St Jeanne Antide Foundation is not only a winner in the NGOs category but also a beacon of hope for those enduring domestic violence, helping them to regain control of their lives.
In addition to providing professional assistance to those facing such hardships, the foundation also initiates projects aimed at restoring dignity to these individuals. The manual work involved in producing Meraki Soaps serves as a form of therapy, allowing participants to discover new skills and momentarily escape their troubles.
While we have learned many valuable lessons from this foundation, the most significant is that every citizen can contribute to reducing waste, just as this organisation has implemented various measures to minimise waste in the production of Meraki Soap.
This article is part of a series published to promote the European Week for Waste Reduction 2024 campaign. Through these articles, we shine a spotlight on the inspiring efforts of participants from the previous edition, showcasing their contributions towards sustainable waste management.
