WasteServ has been awarded the HR Quality Mark by the Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD). This national recognition distinguishes organisations demonstrating effective human resources practices through the implementation of various policies and strategies, including talent retention, career development, and employee engagement.
“Our people are the driving force behind everything we do,” said Richard Bilocca, WasteServ CEO. “At WasteServ, we are proud to have a diverse and highly skilled workforce whose dedication ensures a better environmental future for our country. The commitment they show every day is truly remarkable, and that is why we place such strong emphasis on investing in their growth and wellbeing.”
As part of its wellbeing programme, WasteServ has a dedicated medical and recovery support unit equipped with doctors, nurses, and social workers, offering a range of services ranging from medical care to addiction support, also helping to create a stigma-free workplace. In addition, WasteServ provides fresh fruit every day to all employees and is also working on an employees’ gym to help staff stay active. These initiatives complement ongoing efforts to enhance workplace safety, learning and development opportunities, and more flexible work practices.
This recognition also comes as WasteServ is currently running the ‘Unbox Your Future’ campaign, which showcases employees through a series of interviews that offer an authentic look at what it is really like to work at WasteServ. The campaign highlights the diverse roles, career paths, and personal stories that make up the company’s workforce.
“This Quality Mark shows that we are making a difference at our workplace,” said Alexia Spiteri, Human Resources, Learning & Development Manager. “It is proof that our efforts to foster a supportive and empowering workplace are paying off. We are proud of this achievement and grateful to our teams across the company who made it possible.”
The HR Quality Mark is awarded by the Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) and acknowledges organisations that demonstrate effective HR practices and a sustained commitment to employee development and wellbeing.
